Trepan
PTC’s ThriftChange® and ThriftEdge® Trepan tooling system is designed for specific machine holders. The Trepan holding system includes Trepan Body, Anvils, Clamps and Inserts for the ease in changing inserts and changing from part to part.
Trepan Holder: is the precision ground component held in the specified machine holder and is manufactured to an explicit dovetail size and clearance.
Anvils: is the precision ground component that precisely locates and supports the insert along the cutting edge.
Clamps: is the component that holds the insert into the precision ground anvil location.
Insert: is the cutting tool manufactured to specific geometries, precision tolerances and coated based upon the given manufacturing process and material being machined.
