ThriftShave® is Peterson Tool Company’s shave fixture. Adaptable to most ABM’s, this fixture allows fine tune adjustments for diameter, lateral location, roll support and taper. The fixture is designed to exacting dimensions that produce an extremely rigid fixture. All surfaces are ground to exacting tolerances allowing you to hold substantially tighter tolerances. ThriftShave® has an optional floating roll which minimizes roll marks. ThriftShave® has been field tested on most ABM’s with overwhelming success.
One customer removed a form tool and let the shave remove the entire .040 x 0.120 groove on his aluminum part. Tool life was about 300,000 parts per edge. Using our ThriftShave®, another customer maintains tolerances of 10 microns.
